frontend-journey

How Frontend Became My Thing

I didn’t always know I wanted to do frontend development. At first, I was just curious about how websites worked—how buttons respond, how pages move, and how designs turn into something real on a screen. I started small, experimenting with basic HTML and CSS, and honestly, just seeing things change when I refreshed the browser felt exciting.

Getting the Opportunity at Rwanda Coding Academy

Things really started to shift when I got the opportunity to study at Rwanda Coding Academy. Being there exposed me to real programming concepts, problem-solving, and a tech-focused environment that pushed me to think bigger. It wasn’t just about learning code anymore—it was about building skills that could actually create impact.

Why Frontend Stood Out to Me

As I learned more, I found myself drawn to frontend development. I liked the fact that frontend sits right at the intersection of logic and creativity. You’re not only thinking about how code works, but also about how users feel when they interact with what you build.

A clean layout, smooth animations, or a responsive design can completely change the experience.

Learning Through Mistakes

Of course, the journey hasn’t been perfect. I’ve broken layouts, struggled with responsiveness, and spent way too much time fixing tiny UI bugs. But each mistake taught me something new.

Over time, I started exploring:

  • Component-based design
  • Animations and motion
  • 3D experiences on the web

That’s when frontend stopped feeling like just code and started feeling like a craft.

Where I’m Headed

Today, I’m focused on growing into a strong frontend developer who can turn ideas into polished, interactive experiences. I want to build interfaces that are simple, fast, and visually engaging—interfaces that actually make sense to users.

Being at Rwanda Coding Academy has given me the foundation and confidence to aim higher and keep pushing myself.

This blog is where I share that journey—what I’m learning, what I’m building, and how I’m growing as a frontend developer.
